To the Honorable City Council:

I respectfully request an appropriation of $500,000 from the Unreserved Fund Balance ("Free Cash") Account to the Fire Dept. Overtime Account for the purpose of covering a shortfall in overtime funds. This shortfall is due to a significant increase in sick leave, injury leave and permanent vacancies waiting to be filled. 

My staff will be available to address any questions you may have. Thank you for your consideration of this item.
