That this Board urges the enactment of four initiatives by the State Legislature, to reduce economic inequality in the Commonwealth.

That the Somerville Board of Aldermen hereby supports the following four initiatives, and urges their enactment at the State House, as described by many residents in compelling testimony at a Public Hearing on Economic Inequality before this Board on December 10, 2015:

                     Paid family and medical leave,

                     An additional tax of 4% on annual income above one million dollars,

                     A living wage of $15/hour for employees of big box retail and fast food companies, and

                     Elimination of the sub-minimum wage for tipped workers.
