To the Honorable City Council:

I respectfully request that your Honorable City Council accept and approve expending a grant of $15,000 from the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources to the Office of Sustainability and Environment, under the provisions of MGL Chapter 44, Section 53A. This grant does not require the commitment of new matching funds. The purpose of this grant is to pay for a study to assess the feasibility of adding battery backup power to one or more of the buildings owned by the municipality.
