CITATION

Commending Lea Ruscio for her tireless work and effective stewardship over the past five years (and hopefully many more) as Executive Director of Center for Arts at the Armory.
WHEREAS: Lea Ruscio has been Executive Director of Center for Arts at the Armory for 5 years; and
WHEREAS: She has worked extraordinary hours to coordinate diverse community, arts, food, health and other events at the Armory; and
WHEREAS: She has restored the Center for Arts at the Armory to fiscal health; and
WHEREAS: She has made the Armory a vital community asset for the City of Somerville; and
WHEREAS: She has diligently responded to the many concerns of neighbors who live in close proximity to the Armory with care, compassion, and patience; and
WHEREAS: The Center for Arts at the Armory provides our City with music, dance, theatre, comedy, film, literary readings, and spoken word performances and visual art exhibitions; and
WHEREAS: The Winter Farmers Market, summer youth programming, children’s activities, yoga and other learning opportunities are valuable contributions to the people of Somerville; and
WHEREAS: The Center for Arts at the Armory also offers space for community events, Red Cross blood drives, dances and cultural festivals; NOW THEREFORE BE IT
RESOLVED: That Lea Ruscio is hereby commended and acclaimed as an essential community leader and recognized as a Somerville treasure worthy of honor and praise.
