REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE ON CONFIRMATION OF APPOINTMENTSThe Committee on Confirmation of Appointments held a meeting on April 27, 2010, with Chairman Robert Trane presiding and Committee Members Aldermen William Roche and Bruce Desmond also present and voting. Also present were Aldermen Sean O?Donovan, John Connolly and Walter Pero, Administrative Assistant Matt Dias, Director of Veterans Services Frank Senesi, Water Superintendent Carol Antonelli, DPW Commissioner Stan Koty, Purchasing Director Rositha Durham, Personnel Director Jessie Baker, Superintendent of Lines and Lights Steve MacEachern, Chief Assessor Marc Levye, Superintendent of Inspectional Services Ed Nuzzo, Clerk of Committees Robert McWatters and Assistant Clerk of Committees Charles Sillari.188731- review of a previous Constable appointment:Alderman Desmond?s motion that the City Solicitor provide the Committee on Confirmation of Appointments with a legal opinion relative to the revocation of the business license in question (item 188492), was approved.The Committee interviewed candidates for the positions described within, and took action on the following 16 items: 188882: Communication from Mayor - Requesting the appointment of Brad Arndt to the Tree Advisory Committee. RECOMMENDATION: Should be approved VOTE: Unanimous, 3 - 0 in favor 188977: Communication from Mayor - Requesting the appointment of Jessie Baker as Director of Personnel. RECOMMENDATION: Should be approved VOTE: Unanimous, 3 - 0 in favor 188978: Communication from Mayor - Requesting the appointment of George Landers as Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds. RECOMMENDATION: Should be approved VOTE: Unanimous, 3 - 0 in favor 188979: Communication from Mayor - Requesting the re-appointment of Stanley Koty as Commissioner of Public Works. RECOMMENDATION: Should be approved VOTE: Unanimous, 3 - 0 in favor 188980: Communication from Mayor - Requesting the re-appointment of Steven MacEachern as Superintendent of Highways, Lights and Lines.
