To the Honorable Board:

I respectfully convey to this Board the following documents:

The Green Line Extension Project Participation Agreement, which requires Board of Aldermen approval and lays out the terms for the City of Somerville’s financial participation in the GLX.

A letter from MBTA Acting General Manager Brian Shortsleeve laying out the essential terms of an agreement to be reached between the MBTA and the City relative to the City’s permission to connect to MBTA drainage facilities being constructed as part of the GLX.

A letter from MBTA Acting General Manager Brian Shortsleeve and MassDOT Secretary Stephanie Pollack memorializing commitments from the City and MBTA relative to road work, easements, road closures, updating prior MOUs, and related items.

A letter from Secretary Pollack committing MassDOT’s support for the City’s request to the legislature for enabling legislation giving the City the authority to borrow to meet its financial commitment, and communicating MassDOT’s continued pursuit of statewide policy regarding municipal participation in infrastructure projects.

My staff will be available to answer any questions you may have.

Respectfully Submitted,

Joseph A. Curtatone, Mayor
