That this Councils Committee on Licenses and Permits consider several amendments to the newly passed Wage Theft Ordinance, including wage bond advisory provisions.

That this Council’s Committee on Licenses and Permits consider the following amendments to the newly passed Wage Theft Ordinance, including wage bond advisory provisions:

 

"The first proposed amendment will add the following text to Section IV Subsection D as #2 below, renumbering the existing #2 to #3 :

"2. The City shall solicit a recommendation from the WTAC on the amount of the wage bond to be required for City Contractors, for whom a wage bond is required per this section. If the City modifies the amount proposed by the WTAC it shall inform the WTAC in writing its reason for such modification."

 

The second proposed amendment will add the following text to Section V Subsection E as #2 below, renumbering the existing #2 to #3 :

"The Somerville Licensing Commission shall solicit a recommendation from the WTAC on the amount of the wage bond to be required for license or permit holders, for whom a wage bond is required per this section. If the Licensing Commission modifies the amount proposed by the WTAC it shall inform the WTAC in writing its reason for such modification."

 

Further amendments may also be in order to adjust the terms of initial appointments if the effective date of the ordinance is changed.
