To the Honorable Board:
I respectfully request your approval for the Health & Human Services Department to transfer $17,500.00 from Personal Services to the Professional and Technical Services line. Shape Up Somerville had contracted with Mary Marshall, a certified nutrition counselor to serve has the Head to Fitness Program Coordinator for FY15. This position was initially covered through grant funding through Mass in Motion, Mary works 20hrs./wk at a rate of $35.00/hr. Unfortunately grant funds were not enough to cover the entire year. We would like to honor our contract with Mary to continue her work through the end of this fiscal year. In order to cover the difference we would like to transfer lag money in the Personal services line item to the Professional and Technical services Line item.
In accordance with M.G.L., Chapter 44, Section 53A, which requires a vote of the Board of Alderman for the expenditure of grants, or gifts from the federal government and from charitable foundation, private corporation, or an individual, or from the Commonwealth, a County or Municipality or agency thereof, I request that you accept this grant for final approval.
