Requesting acceptance of a $250,000 annual payment from Wynn MA LLC in accordance with its Surrounding Community Agreement.

To the Honorable City Council:

I respectfully request that your Honorable City Council accept an annual payment of $250,000 from Wynn, MA., LLC., in accordance with the provisions of the Surrounding Community Agreement By and Between the City of Somerville and Wynn, MA., LLC.  Wynn, MA. LLC has agreed to this payment in recognition that the proximity of the Encore Casino Project to the Assembly Square and Assembly Row developments may result in additional pedestrian and vehicular traffic in Somerville and thus an increased need for additional police, fire, traffic, and public works personnel expenses and additional costs related to mutual aid responses to the Casino Project.  All of these costs are incurred on the City's General Fund.
