Dear Honorable Board,

I respectfully request that your Honorable Board appropriate $35,000 from the Capital Stabilization Fund for the purpose of procuring kitchen equipment for the Nibble Kitchen at Bow Market.

The Arts Council is requesting $35,000 in CIP funding to purchase kitchen equipment for the FY19 build out of the Nibble Kitchen at Bow Market.   Nibble-the culinary arm of the Somerville Arts Council-will be opening a 400 sq. ft.  kitchen in Union Square.  The Kitchen has a strong social justice and economic development component. Nibble Kitchen will allow our immigrant entrepreneurs to share their cultures via food and test out restaurant concepts in a low-risk environment.  Nibble cooks are predominantly female and lower income.   This funding will support the purchase of kitchen equipmentbuild out of the Nibble Kitchen at Bow Market.
