Sec. 2-123. - Prosecution of legal proceedings

The city solicitor may, with the approval of the city treasurer, begin and prosecute legal proceedings for the collection of claims due the city. He or she may, with the approval of the mayor, begin and prosecute such other legal proceedings as in his or her judgment the interests of the city may require, and shall make report thereof without delay to the city council. The city solicitor shall also notify the city council without delay of any suits filed against the city.
