To the Honorable City Council:

 

I respectfully  request "Use of Available Funds" in the amount of $ 74,543 in the Personal Services Account of the Police E-911 FY2021 approved budget to fund FY21 salary and benefit costs resulting from the Memorandum of Agreement Between the City of Somerville and the SEIU/Local 888, E-911 Call Taker/Dispatchers Chapter signed on November 4, 2020. The appropriation covers the period January 17, 2021-June 30, 2021.  A subsequent appropriation will be sought to fund the period July 1, 2020-January 16, 2021.

 

Available monies to fund the collective bargaining agreement are available due to the acceptance on September 23, 2020 of $186,976 and $33,244 in grants awarded by the State Office of Public Safety and Security for the Police's 911 services.

 

The appropriation will be allocated to the following accounts:

 

511000   Salaries                       $54,658

514004  Shift Differential           $8,421

514006  Longevity                     $2,700

515004  Holidays                       $8,764
