Dear Honorable City Council,

The City is submitting an application to the MWRA I/I Program (Phase 9) to finance the Sewer Manhole Rehabilitation Project.

I hereby request, subject to the approval of your Honorable City Council, an appropriation in the amount of $1,999,100 for the purpose of funding construction and construction services of trenchless rehabilitations to eliminate inflow and infiltration from manholes in the sanitary sewer system. To meet said appropriation, the Treasurer will be authorized to borrow $499,775 as provided by MGL Chapter 44, and your Honorable Council is requested to accept a $1,499,325 grant which is expected from the MWRA.

The Phase 9 Program is 75% grant, 25% loan.  The loan is a 10 year no-interest loan.
