To the Honorable Board:
On June 13, 2011, I submitted to your Honorable Board my recommendations for a proposed Fiscal Year 2012 General Fund Budget for the various departments of municipal government. My recommended FY 2012 General Fund Appropriation totaled $169,732,903.00.
I am submitting to your Honorable Board a revised FY2012 Appropriation Order that reflects the one hundred eight thousand, eight hundred fifty dollars ($ 108,850.00) in reductions recommended by your Honorable Board’s Finance Committee while meeting as a Committee of the Whole on June 22, 2011. The revised Appropriation Order also includes thirty seven thousand, eight hundred eighty one ($37,881.00) in budgetary corrections to the DPW Buildings & Grounds Personal Services Account. These corrections were accepted by your Honorable Board at the June 22nd meeting.
Your Honorable Board’s Finance Committee resolved that the position of Part-Time Junior Detail Clerk in the Police Department be upgraded to a full-time position. After considering the arguments and consulting with the Police Department Administration, I have decided to approve this request and budget a full-time Junior Detail Clerk in the Police Department Personal Services effective October 3, 2011. The additional budgetary appropriation for this request is nine thousand, nine hundred seven dollars. ($9,907.00).
The attached Appropriation Order provides the breakdown by department of the totals for Personal Services, Ordinary Maintenance, Capital Outlay, and Special Items needed for the Board’s formal adoption of the FY2012 General Fund Budget. The result of these changes is to bring the General Fund Appropriation for FY2012 to $169,671,841. This represents a reduction of $61,062 from the original budget submission.
I would like to commend the Board of Aldermen for their diligence and efforts during this budget process.
Respectfully submitted,
Joseph A. Curtatone
Mayor
