To the Honorable Board:

The cost of recycling has significantly increased this year.  Our budget of approximately $200k was based on last year's recycling rates.  Currently, the rates have increased exponentially.  To continue to provide recycling services to the residents and businesses of the City, we will need additional funding added to the FY18 Recycling Account. 

I respectfully request an appropriation of $376,387.00 from Unreserved Fund Balance ("Free Cash") to DPW Sanitation Recycling Account (0140652-529006) for the purpose of mitigating the Recycling  Deficit.
