Requesting the transfer of $120,000 from the E911 Salary Acct. to the Police Overtime Acct. to cover expenses.

To the Honorable Board:

I respectfully request your approval to transfer $120,000.00 from the E911 Salary Line (021151-51110) to the Police Overtime Line (021051-513000).  The anticipated deficit is due to manpower shortages because of retirements, terminations, reassignments, military activation and various catastrophic incidents involving police officer's that have occurred during this fiscal year.

This transfer is possible because of a Support and Incentive Grant awarded to the Somerville Police Department that enhances E911 Services and fosters the development of regional PSAPs and regional emergency communication centers.  This grant provides funding for Personal Services expenses including salary, training and overtime expenses thus freeing up the appropriations need to cover the above mentioned expenses.
