To the Honorable City Council:
The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council appropriate $74,365 from the Community Preservation Act Fund Historic Preservation Reserve to Nicole Bairos for the stabilization and preservation of Buddy's Diner located at 113 Washington Street. The appropriation will be allocated to the Historic Preservation CPA category (Fund #3252).
The following funding conditions have been placed on the project:
1. The Grantee will consent to general conditions provided in the Grant Agreement, which shall include a provision to ensure long-term preservation of the historic asset; and
2. The Worcester Lunch Car will not be relocated outside of Somerville.
Details of this request are available in the attached funding recommendation from the Community Preservation Committee.
