Dear Honorable Board,It is the opinion of the department heads having signed and therefore approved the attached application for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life's Finish the Fight 5K Road Race that this event plan provides for minimal disruption of the area businesses, and therefore meets with our criteria for approval.More specifically, several staff have met with the applicant as well as with representatives from Federal Realty Investment Trust, on behalf of retail stores at Assembly Row who would be potentially impacted, and have determined a plan that we feel provides the least amount of impact both to constituents and to City resources.The race will be completed early in the morning so as not to disrupt shoppers, retailers, and/or constituents in any significant fashion. Additionally, the applicants have reached out to existing retailers and to physical activity coordinators at Assembly Row to combine and enhance exciting programming at Baxter Park throughout the year.
