Proclamation
Whereas:
The Center for Teen Empowerment, Somerville and the City of Somerville share a commitment to the youth of Somerville, and to making this a great place to live, work, play and raise a family; and
Somerville Teen Empowerment employs 25 youth, working to impact positive change, decrease youth violence and substance abuse, and educate peers; and
Whereas: Whereas:
Teen Empowerment youth organizers and staff meet regularly with the Mayor, Somerville Police, and Aldermen to affect change at the local level, and with the Metro Mayors Coalition through the Shannon Grant Program at the state level; and Teen Empowerment will host its 7th annual Youth Peace Conference on Saturday, April 6th to promote peace and impact positive change in the City of Somerville; and
Teen Empowerment and the City of Somerville will partner to host an additional series of youth enrichment programs throughout the month of April, including anti-bullying and suicide prevention workshops, Youth-Police Dialogues, and SCAP and Library events;
Now therefore be it known to all these present that the month of,
April in the Year 2013
