Official Text

To the Honorable City Council:

The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council accept and approve expending a grant of $122,627 from Mass General Hospital/Cambridge Health Alliance to the Health and Human Services Department, under the provisions of MGL Chapter 44, Section 53A. This grant does not require the commitment of new matching funds.

The purpose of this grant is to support CHA's Community Advisory Board's first outlined strategy which is the increased representation in the recruitment and training of Community Health Workers from the communities in which they serve especially from LGBTQ and BIPOC communities. Please note that this award is for the second half of the total allocated amount of $245,254. The first half of the allocated amount was previously approved for FY22/23.

Appropriate staff will be available to answer any questions you may have. Thank you for your consideration of this item.

Respectfully submitted,

Katjana Ballantyne, Mayor
