SPCD Director providing an update on the establishment of the Open Space Task Force.

To the Honorable Board:
I would like to thank President Ballentyne for submitting the name of Alderman Hirsch to serve as the BOA representative to the new Open Space Task Force.
As we indicated at the December 4, 2018 Land Use Committee meeting, the Task Force will be charged with advising Mayor Curtatone on the strategy to acquire and protect substantial new open space in Somerville. The Task Force will include members of the public and city staff.
After seeking out representatives of key constituencies, we have completed the appointment of the members of the Task Force, which shall be as follows:
1. Stephanie Hirsch, City Council
2. Amber Christoffersen, MyWRA
3. Kat Rutkin, Groundwork
4. Renee Scott, Green and Open Somerville
5. Michael Fager, Conservation Commission
6. Sue Thomas, Economic Development Staff
7. Luisa Oliveira, Parks & Open Space Staff
8. Dan Bartman, Plannign & Zoning Staff
9. Ed Bean, Finance Staff
