To the Honorable Board:
My name is Coleen Cunningham. I live in Ward 6 and both of my children attend the West Somerville Neighborhood School in Ward 7. Powderhouse Boulevard is a very busy street that many people use as a short cut to avoid the lights on Broadway. This leads to a lot of cars passing by WSNS in the morning when the kids are on their way into the school. Even though the crossing guard does an excellent job, she obviously is not there at all times of the day (for example, she is not there for preK dismissal). A raised cross walk would slow down the traffic and make drivers more aware that there is a cross walk.
