To the Honorable Board:

I respectfully request that your Honorable Board accept a grant of $350,000 from the Sewer Enterprise Fund to the Office of Sustainability & Environment, under the provisions of MGL Chapter 44, Section 53A. The City is providing a 25% in-kind match  through the Engineering Department's ongoing sewer system modeling project, which is funded by previously appropriated funds. The purpose of this grant is to pay for an expansion of the modeling to better understand Somerville's vulnerabilities to flooding in the face of climate change.  This grant is funded by the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness program from the MA Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs.
