To the Honorable Board:

 

I respectfully request your approval to accept a grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, State 911 Department for the FY15 State 911 Department Training and Emergency Medical Dispatch Grant in the amount of up to $59,791.00.

 

The purpose of the State 911 Department Training and EMD Grant program is to reimburse primary PSAPs, regional PSAPs, regional secondary PSAPs and RECCs for allowable expenses relating to the training and certification of enhanced 911 telecommunicators and to reimburse allowable expenses for Emergency Medical Dispatch Services provided through a certified EMD Resource.

 

In accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 44, Section 53A, which requires a vote of the Board of Aldermen for the expenditure of grants or gifts from the federal government and from a charitable foundation, private corporation, or an individual, or from the Commonwealth, a County or Municipality or agency thereof, we request your approval to move this request to the Board.
