To the Honorable City Council:
The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council approve the creation of the Community Composting Program Stabilization Fund and accept $350,000 from Unreserved Fund Balance ("Free Cash") for the Fund, under the provisions of MGL 40, Section 5B. This Fund will be used for the purpose of developing and implementing a pilot community composting program. The Fund will encompass all administrative, marketing, and operational expenses of the pilot program.
Acceptable sources of revenue shall include city appropriations, grants, and gifts.
Appropriate staff will be available to answer any questions you may have. Thank you for your consideration of this matter.
