Official Text

To the Honorable City Council:

I hereby submit to the Council the City of Somerville's proposed One-Year Action Plan for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Home Investment Partnership, and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Programs. The total budget under the City's mandated program year 2025-2026 is estimated at $3,214,186.40. This is the second annual action plan in the 2024-2028 5 Year Consolidated Plan cycle.

CDBG: $2,477,825.00

HOME: $517,544.40

ESG: 218,817.00

Building from the priorities established in the City's Five Year Consolidated Plan, the One Year Action Plan describes activities the City will undertake in the areas of affordable housing, economic and community development, parks and open space, transportation and infrastructure, and public services. The CDBG, HOME, and ESG grant funds provide the City of Somerville with a tremendous opportunity to undertake activities which will provide substantial benefits to our residents. The Mayor's Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development will administer these funds

Appropriate staff will be available to answer any questions you may have. Thank you for your consideration of this item.
