To the Honorable City Council:

The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council accept the gift of two (2) Nolan Rail carts with an approximate value of $5399.00 from the MBTA to the Fire Department, under the provisions of MGL Chapter 44, Section 53A. This gift does not require the commitment of new matching funds.

The purpose of this gift is to enhance the Fire Department's ability to safely and successfully handle a rail incident.These carts are used to carry equipment or assist in evacuating injured people.

Appropriate staff will be available to answer any questions you may have. Thank you for your consideration of this item.
